Darkness Halts Second Round At Sacramento State Intercollegiate For Men’s Golf

first_imgSACRAMENTO, Calif. – Play was suspended due to darkness with two groups on the course on the first day of the Sacramento State Intercollegiate as the Drake men’s golf team had two players in the groups that still needed to finish the second round.With 36-holes nearly complete, sophomore Drew Ison led the team in the first round with a 77 and is four-over par in the second round, tied for 27th-place.  Sophomore Matt Lavery also carded a 77 in the first 18 holes and finished the second round with a 78. Freshman Jack Kennedy shot a pair of 79s, while classmate Tommi Avant carded a 78 to start the day but struggled in the second round of the day, shooting an 83. After carding an 84, senior Blake Huser is a member of one of the two groups that still needs to complete the second round, and through 16-holes in the second round; he is five-over par with a 68.The final two groups will complete play at 7:30 a.m. MT as the rest of the Bulldogs and teams will start at 8:30 a.m. Print Friendly Versionlast_img read more
